Welcome to LBJCB Archives
Welcome to the Long Beach Junior Concert Band Archives web site...dedicated to preserving the memories of the years spent with the band. While this web site is not associated with the Long Beach Junior Concert Band, it is created and managed by past members in support of the bands history.
What this site is
-
This site is dedicated to the past members of LBJCB. When you have moved on from the band, you will always have the memories of the appearances and friendships that were formed with others in the band. And don't forget the trips, Texaco commercials, ham dinners, Christmas card sales, and other fund raisers!
-
This is a place to share any memorabilia you have, any photos you have of the band or people in the band behind the scenes, or any memories of a special moment.
-
It is also a place to honor our friends that have passed on. The intent is to gather as many good memories as possible in one place, with the help of any and every past band member.
What this site is not
-
This site is not to Air Dirty Laundry or try to compare Long Beach Junior Concert Band with other youth bands. Whether LBJCB was better than any other band or not is based on opinion. This site is to be an archive of the past, which is not up for debate!
-
To keep these debates and flame wars from happening, this site will not have a forum. If you have a story to tell, please submit it for review by the site administrators, and it will be posted in the correct section. It is not our intent to censor anyone that has a story to tell, but to keep any unintentional insensitive language from being published.
What we would like from you
Please register with our web site. You will be asked for information like your city and state, the section you were in while in LBJCB, and the years you were in the band. This information is used to show where everyone is on a map. Please check out our Privacy Policy . You can even upload a small photo of yourself, either a current photo or a photo taken during your years with the band.
Also, if you have any past newsletters, photos, or stories to tell, please let us know and we'll post them on the site. The more memorabilia we have, the more fun it is for everyone!

7th Annual Drummer Reunion
The 7th Annual Drummer Reunion at Bolsa Chica Beach was so successful, the local authorities felt it was a disruption and asked that the "circle up" be stopped. There were too many people from the beach that would stop to listen and it was clogging up the bike path! Before it was shut down, we were entertained with about 45 minutes of cadences. If you've never been to one of these reunions, you are missing the fun, comradre, and entertainment that is presented for free!! (except the price of beach parking, which went up last week)

New Features Added to the Site
New features have been added to the registered users section of the site. Hopefully, these features will make your visit more enjoyable.
Personal Photo Galleries
There is a new tab on your profile page to allow you to upload photos and create your own personal photo gallery. Currently, there is a limit of 10 photos that any personal gallery can contain, but that limit can be changed if necessary. These photo galleries can only be viewed by other registered users, so they will only be shared with fellow LBJCB band members and alumni. Please take advantage of this feature and let us know what you think about it!
Member Connections
A social networking type of feature has been added to allow you to connect with other registered users. Another new tab will appear on your profile page to list your connections. To make a connection, go to the list of users, select the user your would like to connect with, and select the Connections button at the top of their profile and select Request Connection. That user will be notified and asked to accept your connection. Once the connection is made, you can organize your connections and e-mail them with ease. Give it a try!!
Both of these features are available from your profile page.
Let us know what you think about these new features with some feedback !!

New story from the '50's
I received a really cool story from Jim Kashishian along with photos from the '50's.
Jim now lives in Madrid, Spain and is still very involved in music. He says, "Please visit my
site, www.kashprod.com and click on the
English flag for the English version to find out more about me than one probably
really needs to know. Visit the Jazz Band Calendar (Canal Street) on the
site if you plan a visit to Madrid, so you can drop by where I am playing
and say hello."
The story is only available to registered users, so if you aren't registered, do it now!! Just reading this story is worth the effort!!
If you are registered and logged in, click here to view the story.
